A Review of Macallan Scotch Whisky (12 years)
This bottle has a place in my heart as being the first truly sweet Speyside whisky I'd ever tried. Aged in Spanish sherry oak casks, this drop has a stunning deep bronze colour, as sweet and smooth as it is on the palate. Little smoke, but a good warmth around the mouth, the grape the lasts as long as the malty grain in terms of its finish. Macallan 12 year old Scotch Whisky would be a good introduction to Speyside Scotches for those who are predominantly wine drinkers.

Gilmore Gilmore Gilmore! An artistic expression of the Good that can be when an Artist plays with the senses. This bottle is not afraid to take you on a journey. Best enjoyed in company, this number plays as well on a summer afternoon as it does on a cold winter's night. There's no real darkness to the Macallan but it is lyrical and expansive.

Speyside is named after the river Spey. Most of the distilleries take their water from one of its tributaries; Livet, Fiddich or Avon. More than half of Scotland's operational malt whisky distilleries are located within the Speyside region.

A Deep Caramel - Bronze
Dark chocolate and Berries on the nose.
BODY:
The Macallan has a medium body.
Sherry and warm caramel with lingering brown sugar at the back of the palate.
A long warm finish coats the mouth with the berry flavour lingering.
